CBO RESIDENCE
..
The architectural practice Mold Architects was commissioned to undertake the complete renovation and conversion of a historic coffee house in the Chora of Serifos into a summer residence. The project concerns a two-storey building with load-bearing stone masonry dating back to the 1920s.
Qoop was commissioned to fabricate a series of bespoke architectural elements for the newly configured interior spaces, while responding to the project's central design intention: the development of a unified construction system throughout the residence.
The entire collection was fabricated from formed sheet steel and raw steel sections, establishing a material dialogue with the broader architectural narrative of the space.
The scope of qoop's work included: (a) the kitchen and its integrated equipment; (b) a series of staircases; (c) a suspended bookshelf extending from the loft; (d) pivot interior doors; and (e) ceiling cladding within the wet areas.
