THE SEA AROUND US
Tavros space
In this project, qoop was asked to manufacture the tables that will form the bases of the exhibits.
The materials used are 3mm sheet metal and Φ16 tubes for the support legs.
The sheet metal of the surface was cut with a laser machine in the desired curved shape while on its underside nuts were welded to the exact positions of the supports for the application of the detachable legs. These had a corresponding thread welded on their upper edge for assembly. In this way, the 15 pieces of tables were perfectly electrostatically painted while their transport and subsequent storage was facilitated, occupying the minimum space.
Special care was given to the joints of the tables with each other where a hidden connection was applied with 3mm slats on their underside.
In collaboration with the designer, the legs of the tables were distributed on the surface in a way capable of supporting the exhibits without requiring a secondary frame, giving a light impression to the heavy metal surfaces.
