MULTI STAND
The organization of contemporary architecture in Greece, DOMa, commissioned qoop for the third time to design and implement of two stands types for the sponsors of its events held at the Benaki Museum in Piraeus Str. for the period 2024-2025.
The typologies of the two stands would serve a different way of presenting the sponsors: the first is developed at a height where the basic product presentation is done on a screen adapted to the stand, while the second is a platform for depositing the sponsors' products.
Qoop studying the two versions adapted the design in a way where the same pieces can be assembled in a different arrangement producing the two different typologies, saving a large amount of pieces and material.
During the study, an important design factor was the quick assembly and disassembly of the stands as well as the smallest possible volume when storing them.
Constructionally, the pieces of the stands consist of a metal frame with a 30/30/2mm cross-section and overlays on both sides of a bond type aluminum composite panel, which adds strength with light weight. Qoop has collaborated with elval color to produce the pieces with a new product called 'apticon' that can give a custom texture to the visible surface. The topotheque office, based in Ionanina city, designed the embossed pattern applied to the panels by elval color - as well as their cuts - giving an interesting texture and a look that changes depending on the viewing angle.
The assembly is done by applying M10 rivets to the metal frames, while metal joints were designed from 8 mm blades and corners produced by laser cutting. In both versions, regulators have been provided at the positions of the bases for the alignment of the stands.
